Residents of High Platform Area
In the afternoon, I suggested that we paid a visit to the ancient lane in High Platform area. The idea was welcomed.
The ancient lane was a must-go site. It's the soul of Kashgar.
The lane featured high platforms, earth walls and traditional windows. The Uyghur people passed through the lane, quietly. The shadow of women in black gowns was shown on the honey earth walls.
Children were playing, filling the air with their laughter. Their happiness was so contagious that it reminded me of my childhood fun.
I was attracted by the way those women dressed themselves, and the way they walked, so elegant, charming and giving out a sense of calmness…I took pictures of them and they were all very friendly and cooperative.
Three young women, with their babies in arms, enjoyed the warm afternoon sunshine, smiling. I was moved by the satisfaction radiated from their face. I showed them the photos I had taken. They were a bit surprised but definitely very happy to see them. I felt they sincerely liked the photos I had taken of them. And I also felt their simplicity, and beauty from the bottom of my heart.
The relatively primitive layout and fragrant colors featured in the small lane seemed even more appealing under the enchanting sunshine. Light and dark mixed up together on the honey walls. It seemed as if the essence of the spirit of Uyghur people was captured in this small lane in a condensed way.
